PM's Message

The entire world has greatly appreciated India's prowess at the historic AI Summit held in Delhi. This shows that the vision of our young friends towards technology will be of immense benefit to all of humanity.

Meaning of Avijñātasya Vijñānaṃ Vijñātasya Ca

Experimentation and research are essential to discovering unknown knowledge. Judgment and analysis of known facts are the beginning of research, and that knowledge is verified through experience and observation.

Commentary

This verse from the Kamandakiya Nitisara describes a complete cycle of intelligent work. Avijñātasya vijñānam is discovery of what is unknown; vijñātasya niścayaḥ is firm understanding of what has been learned; ārambhaḥ karmaṇām is decisive initiation; and ārabdhasyāntadarśanam is carrying the undertaking through to its end. Intelligence is therefore tested not only by inquiry, but also by judgment and completion. The post applies this sequence to India's AI ambitions and the conversion of research into public benefit. That is a fitting modern example, while the verse itself offers a general discipline for investigation and execution in any field.
