Commentary
This verse names four ways in which a person can foster goodwill among people: through the eyes or manner of looking, through thought, through speech, and through action. The word prasādayati conveys pleasing or winning favour, while anuprasīdati describes that favourable disposition returning in response. Its central insight is reciprocity: the disposition one consistently brings to the world helps shape how the world responds. By placing inner thought beside visible speech and action, the verse presents goodwill as something cultivated through the whole person. The Prime Minister’s message applies this principle to young people whose sensitivity, spirit of service, and capability shape the present as well as the future.
