Commentary
Udyama means purposeful exertion or enterprise, and the verse says that its prasāda, its favourable result, makes many kalāḥ—arts and skills—visible. Its second line contrasts this active stance with the kātarāḥ, the timid, who merely repeat that whatever is destined will happen. The point is not that the future can be known, but that resignation is empty talk when effort is possible. Thus the verse joins capability with courage: skills come into view through disciplined action, while fear withdraws from action. The Prime Minister’s message remembers people who endured Partition’s horrors and applies this contrast to courage, resolve, goodwill, and national unity in adverse circumstances.
