Commentary
Goddess Siddhidatri is the ninth and final form of Goddess Durga worshipped on Maha Navami. Her name signifies the giver (Datri) of supernatural powers (Siddhis). She is depicted sitting on a lotus, signifying that while she rules over the material and spiritual world, she remains detached and pure. Her worship marks the culmination of the Navratri journey, representing the ultimate realization of the self. The list in the first line does the argument's work: siddhas, gandharvas and yakshas, then asuras and amaras together. Beings on both sides of the deva–asura divide serve her, which places her above the quarrel rather than on one side of it. The second line repeats the same idea in two forms, siddhidā and siddhidāyinī, a doubling the stotra uses to close each verse on the name it is praising.
