PM's MessageHeartiest greetings to all fellow citizens on Ganesh Chaturthi. May this sacred festival of beholding and worshipping Vighnaharta infuse everyone’s life with new energy and renewed enthusiasm. May his divine blessings bring success to everyone’s efforts and may the nation continue to advance steadily on the path of progress—this is my prayer. Ganpati Bappa Morya!
Meaning of Mudākarāttamodakaṁ Sadā Vimuktisādhakaṁ
I bow to Lord Shri Vinayaka, whose sacred hands are adorned with modakas; who forever guides seekers on the path of liberation; who wears the crescent moon as an ornament upon his forehead; who is the protector of the entire universe and the sole supreme Lord of the cosmos; who vanquished the demon Gajasura; and who swiftly frees his devotees from all sorrows and afflictions.

Commentary
This verse offers a flowing garland of epithets to Vinayaka before culminating in the words namāmi taṃ vināyakam—‘I bow to that Vinayaka.’ The image of the modaka held with joy introduces a gentle, auspicious presence, while vimuktisādhakam presents him as one who continually helps bring about liberation. Kalādharāvataṃsakam depicts the crescent moon as his ornament, and vilāsilokarakṣakam praises him as the protector of the manifest world. Anāyakaikanāyakam calls him the one leader of those without a leader, while the closing compounds portray him as the destroyer of the elephant-demon and the swift remover of misfortune for those who bow. In the Prime Minister’s Ganesh Chaturthi greeting, these qualities become the basis of a prayer for renewed energy, successful effort, and the nation’s continuing progress.
