Commentary
The prayer addresses Ambika as the Goddess whose own power pervades the whole world. The long compound niśśeṣadevagaṇaśaktisamūhamūrtyā describes her form as the collected powers of all the gods, with none left out. Even the gods and great sages worship her, and the speakers join them in a bow offered with devotion. The closing words ask her to grant auspicious things to us, so the prayer includes those who recite it together. For a reader today, it offers a way to express gratitude for the power that sustains life and to seek blessings beyond individual concerns.
