Commentary
This mantra belongs to the closing hymn of the Rigveda, a hymn that presents collective harmony as a sacred discipline. The words samānaḥ mantraḥ point to a shared counsel, resolve, or guiding thought; samitiḥ samānī evokes a common assembly; and samānaṁ manaḥ asks for minds and inner intentions to be aligned. The verse then places this unity in a ritual frame: the speaker offers a common oblation, suggesting that cooperation is not merely practical coordination but an offering made with sincerity and shared purpose. Its ideal is not mechanical sameness, but concord. People may bring different strengths, roles, and perspectives, yet their deeper intention can be joined toward a common good. PM Modi's post draws out this civic meaning directly: when resolve, thought, and feeling come together, collective goals become achievable through unity and disciplined cooperation.
