Commentary
The verse turns valor into a sun whose apparent setting is never final. The comparison does not deny moments of defeat, concealment, or exhaustion; instead, it insists that courage can return to action just as the sun shines again after darkness. Śaurya names heroic courage, while vikramate conveys stepping forth or acting with prowess. The repeated punaḥ, again, is the heart of the teaching: a brave person is defined not by never facing adversity, but by rising to meet it once more. This makes courage inseparable from perseverance, because valor proves itself through renewed action rather than a single dramatic moment. The accompanying tribute applies that image to Udham Singh, presenting his courage and resolve as an enduring inspiration in the defence of the motherland's dignity.
