Commentary
This verse from the Hiranyagarbha Sukta of the Rigveda is a sublime tribute to the divine power that manifests as the physical grandeur of the world. While interpreted here in the context of national dedication, it originally praises the Creator whose majesty is reflected in the snowy peaks of the Himalayas, the vastness of the oceans, and the span of all directions. It teaches us to see the sacred in our geography and to approach our land with a spirit of 'Havisha Vidhema'—worship through selfless offering. It calls for an expansion of consciousness where one's identity merges with the larger whole of the nation and humanity.
