Meaning of Manojavaṁ Mārutatulyavegaṁ Jitendriyaṁ

Commentary
This prayer gathers a series of names and qualities of Hanuman before the final salutation. Manojavam and marutatulyavegam describe extraordinary speed; jitendriyam names mastery over the senses; buddhimatāṃ variṣṭham praises supreme wisdom; and vātātmajam, vānarayūthamukhyam, and śrīrāmadūtam identify him through lineage, leadership, and service. These are not all relationships: some are direct descriptions of his capacities, while others place him in relation to Vāyu, the vānaras, and Rama. The closing namāmi makes devotion explicit and presents strength, intelligence, and self-control as qualities dedicated to service rather than self-display.
